Toynbee Hall is an established charitable organisation run from a variety of buildings providing a range of programmes and activities including financial inclusion, debt advice, free legal advice and community engagement. In seeking to reorganise and consolidate their landholdings, they approached Greysmith Associates to prepare concept design ideas for the threshold to the grade II listed Hall, which sits behind a small park called Mallon Gardens. The concept sought to retain the identity as a public green space and bring coherence and sense of place. The proposals were well received by Toynbee Hall and the local authority although implementation depends upon legal agreements on land ownership being put in place.
